Novelist, Playwright/Director, and Educator
Dr. Phaire is an Associate Professor in English at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC). In addition, she taught Creative Writing as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland for six years. Prior to joining UDC’s full-time faculty, Dr. Phaire taught English Composition and Literature at Montgomery College, Rockville and Silver Spring Campuses.
In addition to her teaching career, Dr. Phaire is a published novelist, playwright, and founder and board member of a non-profit organization, Heralds of Hope Theater Company from 2005 to 2019 whose mission was to provide a platform of artistic expression for aspiring actors, playwrights, directors, and technicians throughout the Baltimore and Washington, DC area. Dr. Phaire is the owner of an education consulting company, DWP Education Enterprises, LLC. Consulting services are available to clients in course design, educ-tech apps, crafting student instructions and utilizing best practices for optimal learning within multiple modalities.
